Painting Signed Munroe 1908/1906 Country Road

Used to be my Grandmothers and I'm trying to get more info about this painting. The date is partially under the mat and looks like 1906 or 1908. The back is sealed with paper. It's in a frame under glass with a mat.

Can you suggest a website that might have info on artists of this era?
I haven't been able to find anything yet the artist and would love to find out more.

Any ideas on what the first name would be? Folks here are thinking the last name is 'Munroe'.
