The tall amethyst pitcher was purchased at a shop on the West coast of Michigan/art community and the large round vase was purchased at a re-sale shop. I'm hoping they ARE in fact, Blenko pieces. Each had Blenko labels on them, but I'm unable to find any information on them specifically. I love contemporary glass, especially Blenko/art deco pieces. I'm trying to establish value to insure them. Any good knowledge out there?? Thanks!!
They are both indeed Blenko. The pitcher was designed by Wayne Husted who worked for Blenko from 1952-63. The vase looks like a John Nickerson who worked for Blenko from 1970-74, could be from his Consorzio line. If I find the design numbers I'll pass them along. Love both of them! I'm a Blenko collector myself.
The foil label on the pitcher was used by Blenko from 1930 to 1982, which would be what is expected considering when Husted and Nickerson worked for Blenko.
Forgot to add that the color of the pitcher is actually Mulberry which was only produced in 1958.
If you look closley at the bottom of the mulberry vase this piece could have a sandblasting of the word blenko and a little hand Insurance wise I believe it would be worth around 200 Blenkoman mike. Any more ? Feel free to call 509 521 6453
