I bought this bangle at the same time as the glass bangle that I thought was Jade. This is Jade bangle, I took it to the jeweller at the same time as I took my glass bangle. He did verify this is Jade, he said it was Chinese Export. My thoughts are that it is probably from the 1920, I would love your thoughts Kyra. He was saying that the quality of Jade varies terrifically, which Kyra as already explained to me. When I was in Vietnam I did buy a Jade bracelet and I can tell that this bangle looks completely different.
Many thanks for looking.
Hi Jean!
Nice bangle!
Jade is a very confusing term... Not only is there different qualities of jade, but there is two different stones!
Jade jadeite and nephrite jade:

Vietnamese love jadeite, and prefer it to nephrite. Yours is a nephrite jade, here is its brother:

This is not nephrite, more likely green marble; and look closer at that appraisal certificate in the link: it has several spelling mistakes.
Thank you kyra, for your link. I really would love to know more about this wonderful stone, it is so beautiful.
Thank you very much for your comment nutsabotas.
Thanks davyd for your comment. As I said in my comment, I did take this bracelet to a jeweller who confirmed it to be Jade, he didn't elaborate if it was Jadaite or Nephrite.
Hi valentino, thank you for your comment. So I would be thinking that these types of bracelets were common during the 1990s? I really appreciate your help.
Val is correct on the date. I'm curious how exactly the jeweler tested the stone?
He is my local antique jeweller davyd, I showed him both bangles, he looked at both through his loupe. The other one which I thought was Jade, he said was glass, out of curiosity I asked him to looked at this and he confirmed it was Jade which was a surprised me because like you I thought it was some kind of stone. It was a pleasant surprise.
Hi thank you valentino, it would be a bonus if it was from the 1950s, but I really enjoy wearing it, plus it was a very affordable price, and I have had a few compliments.
Thank you valentino :-))
Many thanks
