There was a very interesting post by AnnaB from about 6 months ago featuring a vase by Vincenzo Nason. I thought I would post an article of some possibly related and earlier mid-century bowls from my collection.
These bowls are approximately 9" in diameter and 3" deep. The base glass is not black as in the case of the V. Nason descriptions, but rather a dark amethyst purple. You can tell when the bowls are backlit as in the first photograph. Copper aventurine is cased in clear glass above the amethyst base. In the case of one, it is in blobs, and the other in swirls. The rim is folded inward and down in one section only, and the base is ground so they will not roll when on a flat surface. Best of all, the original labels are still on the bowls. Both labels read, "Genuine Venetian Glass Made in Murano Italy". The green label is on the swirled bowl, and the red label is on the bowl with the blobs of copper. I believe that these date to the 1950s or '60s, possibly by Nason while at Venini?

Not as much action in the Murano board as Bohemian... I have seen some of these Murano aventurine pieces mis-categorized on ebay as Rindskopf before, believe it or not!
Some other pics. Label are generic......maybe 1960's era? Yes reminds me of NASON too

Thanks AntiqueRose - I've never seen the gold label - I was thinking '60s too :-) Bob
