An another interesting thing I would like to share with you. Flea market find - an another thing I found years ago. This waterlily pendant is from two parts, the bottom part seems to me to be mother-of-pearl.
The top part - not sure - what do you think? In my opinion this might be even handmade carved.
It is not glass. Might this be jade? In my opinion, this is either plastic, or some kind of stone. The pendant ring is so ugly that I dont think this was the original setting.
I don't know anything about jewelry, but if it is plastic, it resembles some celluloid jewelry I've seen. Very appealing;)
This is really pretty!
Thank you Efesgirl and bananapeel !
The waterlily looks too smooth to have been carved, so I think it is molded. Warm to the touch means it's not stone.
A pretty silver bail would look super with your pendant.
Thank you Efesgirl! It is not the first time I wish you visit Bratislava someday:) It is not exactly warm, either, but I think the moter-of-pearl is colder to touch. Not sure as the surface of flower is different. But come to think of it the petals are really too smooth.
I agree with the silver, but I dont think I will wear this pendant - its too big.
It looks lovely and delicate. :)
thank you martika!
Interesting!
You have to taste it for testing :-P
Put your tongue on the lily to feel if it is plastic or glass...
I'm with Bonnie for molded material :-)
It is all carved from an abalone shell.
Superb work.
OR - the top part may be jade.
Thank you Kyra and Celiene! It is not glass.
You have interesting testing methods Kyra - but I like it, sounds logical - thank you!
