I found this beautiful oval dome Victorian picture frame with applied gold and plaster decoration at the Salvation Army on Thusday morning, i was witness when it came in at the donation door, I ask to broad in for pricing, this frame have some condition issue, one of the plaster decoration missing at the bottom, but other then that, the glass is original and the frame is sturdy for is age.
This little girl is lovely holding her doll with confident, she look very proud and her dress is gorgeous with this little head bonnet and she wear a very nice neckless.

This frame measure 21.50 inch by 15.50 inch, the photograph is 19.25 inch by 13.50 inch.

    Many Thanks Everyone for Viewing.

Very nice and yes her eyes seams to have seen a lot. If you look at her face, hands, upper part of dress she looks very young, about 3-4? But her leg looks very long a bit out of proposition. That might be the angle that does that. Her eyes makes me a bit sad. You should not have to look mature when you are a child.

What a wonderful find ! It looks like a painting vs a colored photo to me and artist seemed to give her those eyes and also the dolls eyes . If you look at her hand it sure looks like a painting to me but it is a beauty either way :-)

That is a photo--and the leg extension is due to the very vintage camera,, Someone here can explain better---If it was artwork, you wouldn't see the leg looking like that
It is one of the best photos I have seen, and I aspire to find such a treasure!!

Thomas, absolutely in accordance with your comment, and i have many of my family photo, they all look sad and unhappy, sure i will need some time soon to post them, with the description, I always like to add as usual, it's a lot of work, I swear , I getting there.

Elisabethan, totally agree, the maturity coming at is time, when you look mature before, this is not good, but it's seem to be like that in the XIX century, please don't be sad, her eyes look to be captivated by the photograph with all the equipments(tripod- black drape-etc...)impressive for a child.

Scott, yes she is beautiful, go very well with my little boy found a while ago.

Manikin, I am not a specialist in this field of collecting, but every time you can compare with another one, very make the different, good example( my first LOETZ, my first Murano, my first still Bank) i have many example like that.
Before I attribute this one as a coloured photograph, I compare with this one---

      http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/188568-colored-photograph-of-young-boy-late-19

They look similar in the making process, always better if you have something to compare with.

PCC, Me too, I love more and more the day's pass, and the fact that I have the couple now( the little boy above), they gone a look awesome reunited on the wall.

Many thanks to all of you for the very nice comments and the love, really appreciated your constant support, thank you for stopping by often.

      Regards
      Alan

Nice image-- agree it is an enlarged photograph that has had details enhanced. These are typical of the late 19th- early 20th century.
