seeking info on this very old Ludwig bass drum.
24 " diameter shell X (only) 6" deep and it is mahogany
appropriate Ludwig "badge" for 1920's, no marks or labels inside shell

1923 Ludwig catalog shows a "Home" kit w/ a 6 X 24 bass but lists shell as maple. Any info appreciated - thanks.....

thanks for the info and help..... the 1920's Ludwig catalogs advertise these "home" kits as "just the thing for the home orchestras that are so popular now". The only year that shows a 6 X 24" bass drum (that I can find) in these kits is the 1923 catalog; other years show a 6 X 22" bass and all of these 6" wide basses are listed as maple while the wider shells are listed as mahogany. This drum shell is mahogany so I can't pin it to a specific year. I'm from the drum corps world so this is new to me. I'm sure someone knows more about them
