Figurine Lamp w/Conical Shade Maybe 1950s?

Hello!
Recently purchased this amazing and unique lamp at an estate sale. Has anyone seen something like this before? I am trying to do some research on the piece, but I am not even sure where to start other than maybe it's a figurine lamp from the 1950s. (Mom thinks it's from the '50s.) Is it a desk lamp?! Credenza lamp? Is there name for this sort of lamp? I'm stumped!
