wondering if anyone can help me with this piece
was given this from a friend that told me she had picked it up in second hand shop in Italy. Know nothing about it
12.5 cm widest point and stands about 2cm high
unknown metal scrolling
from the back can make out 2 labels ( the second very hard to read through the thick glass ... )please see the last pic
very heavy for its size
any info / value would be appreciated

I think the metal is sterling silver - I see an R inside a square and an oval with what could be "925" inside.

my goodness what good eyes u have ... didn't see that ... it has an r in a square..then what looks like 1 (then a division sign ) 28
the oval has a p or a 9 25 ... there is also a small rectangle to the left of that with ? 3 stamps which are too small for me to make out

oh dear it is becoming very confusing ... have been told its a saucer ,pin dish ,card dish ,a special commemorative dish (but for what?)
