This is a 2 part article about a couple of Loetz Vases from my collection. They are roughly the same size and shape, but different decors. The second is an example of Loetz Creta Rusticana. It stands about 4" tall and is about 2.5" in diameter. The green base glass is covered with metallic iridescent sheen. The surface had bumps and knots similar to tree bark. The glass has a high Uranium content and glows brightly under ultraviolet light. The shape hints at the Art Deco era still to come though the décor dates to 1899.
Thanks to everybody for the loves! I didn't mean to photo-bomb art glass with all these posts, but I'm trying to get caught up with documenting my collection... still just the tip of the iceberg! :-)
I love seeing your collection - please don't apologize, and keep it up! ????
..the ???? were a bizzare typo, Bob! :)
Perhaps posting 20 at one time was a bit excessive... some of the lesser items might have taken more notice - still, I'm making some nice progress documenting things. I have a few new posts to make today :-) Bob
Few, beyemvey, that's mean you will reach 100 post, congratulations in abvance.
Not sure where I will be later.
