This mid-century vase by Van Briggle is from the Anna Van line of their pottery. This line began when the company acquired a small pottery in Arkansas and created a line named in honor of Artus' wife. The vase stands about 8" tall and 6" wide. The base is about 2.5" in diameter and the fan is about 1.5" thick. The glaze is mostly black with a grey-white lava glaze is applied near the top. An off center houe through the vase gives me the impression that it is winking. Thoroughly mid-century modern!
