Though it only stands about 5" tall and is about 2.5" at the base, this object has an amazing presence. Greenish-gold aventurine is cased over brick red base glass. The rim is pinched and polished as is the body of the vase. c. pre WWI.

Is this definitely Rindskopf? It is the first one of yours that has me scratching my head - but this is usually in ignorance! :-)

I believe so Michelle. This is a common Rindskopf shape. I have a Rindskopf pulled feather base that uses the same brick red base glass. Also, Dr. Alfredo Villanueva-Collado documents the shape and decor on his Rindskopf by Shape and Decor page. Have you heard of alternate attributions for these?

Thank you for the kind thoughts Malkey!

Sorry, I should have directed my first answer to Ian, not Michelle.

Although I've never owned one, I've always admired Kralik's aventurine vases Bob. Yours is a beauty!

Thank you kindly Rick - Why do you suggest Kralik? (Though I would still love it as much :-)

Oh wow, I misspoke! I type with a voice recognition program and obviously said Kralik by mistake. It's obviously a classic Rindskopf form. Sorry about that :-)

Rindskopf to me because of the shape - the pontil is interesting
