I Got these from a guy in Canada who Inherited them from his dad, and this is the story he told me. He said his father bought them from old fella who's from from Duck Unlimited fund raiser, I think before 1989, from what I understand he bought 12 birds and ducks altogether, couple of of them wasn't finished and some of them were without hooks or hookless as I remember asked him where it came from and why some are without hooks.. He said he thinks it was removed for paint protection.. Dad gave hookless birds to my mom and made it to tree ornaments for Christmas tree for family as kids safety. But Dad did kept the rest with hooks. had it in storage for about 16 years but yes I think your right I think the hooks might be newer But Some hooks are original. But from what I understand he did said those birds are from the early 60's or so. But I can't prove it. The birds are 3 inches long x 1 inch wide and the ducks are 3 inches long x 1 inch wide. If any one has any information about these birds please let me know...
Pardon my ignorance, but are these used for fishing ???
Amazing collection ! They are beautifully crafted fishing lures and I would frame them and never use them. Looks like a artist made them and sold them rather than a big factory .
These are hand craved and hand painted. And yes vetraio5o they were made to be fished but these never seen the water...
Thank you, Manikin
