I picked these up at a local auction and am at a loss for what type of projection machine they were used with. It's a large wood crate with 14 large round glass "slides". Some are 12 1/2" diameter and the are 14 1/2" diameter. They are 2 layers of glass with the black paper similar to magic lantern sealing the edge. The artwork is on the inside between 2 layers of glass. I think they would be projected on a ceiling in a large public, ballroom, etc. and appear to large for home use. They don't appear to be artwork that would show movement if rotated and I think would just be a static projected image. Everyone I have talked to has never seen these before. Anyone that could help identify what these are would be great... thanks!

The only labels are on the edges of the discs. They are handwritten and just identify the pattern/artwork. No other labels or mfgr's markings on the discs or crate. I did find an old auction sticker on the crate and a hand painted "23" which indicates this may have been part of a large collection of crates with these discs at one time.

Fascinating, and fantastic graphics. They have an almost Morris-like style to them, particularly the floral one.
I'm fascinated to find out what they were for. I hope you find a way of using them- the art is marvellous and shouldn't be hidden!
