The is a large, early 20th century image that shows US Marine casualties.
The format of the photo and uniforms show that it is a pre- WW1 photograph, but I am not sure of the location.
The Marine in the wheel chair has lost his arm just below the elbow. The Marine in the bed has suffered severe facial injuries.
Two of the men proudly display their campaign hats with the Eagle Globe and Anchor insignia (EGA).
Thanks peasejean!

Fascinating. All on the verandah of a stone house.
Their eyes are haunting.
Totally agree with what Karen said! Fantastic photo!
Thanks much scott and racer.

Rob:
Marines were involved in several smaller conflicts before WW1: Philippines, Nicaragua, Haiti, and China to name a few.
With a blow up, a clump of material cloth can be seen and it appears the stump is out of the sling. Also, I'd expect to see a hand out the other end of the sling-- or he has a very short arm on that side.
