I've always wanted to know more about this clock which we purchased from Craigslist about 14 years ago. It did not work when we bought it, but I managed to get it running and it keeps very good time. The finish is very faded and has no luster. The movement says SN 29318 Colonial Mfg Co Wintergarden, Germany. It stands 83" tall without a finial x 20" wide x 14 1/2" deep. There is a small plaque inside the door with W. A. Hathaway Company, HATHAWAY FURNITURE, 51 WEST 45TH ST, NEW YORK.
I researched the name and found that W.A.Hathaway joined the New York Merchants' Association in December of 1914 under the catagory of furniture . I cannot find any other reference to help me determine the age of the clock.
