Yet another find from Goodwill. I watched this chair for about a month as they marked it down several times. I really liked it but I didn't think it would fit through the doors of my Honda Civic. Finally yesterday it was marked down to an unbelievable five dollars ! It was originally seventy-five. Now it was a "no brainer" but it was also pouring rain. I was told to pull up to the awning and they would bring it out. First try the rear seat... that was a no go. The doors didn't open wide enough. It barely fit upside down on the passenger front seat that was pushed all the way back. With the legs dangerously close to the glass, I was gingerly able to close the car's door... Whew! The fabric is worn and frayed and needs to be replaced and the arms are beginning to loosen at the joints but it's still basically a sturdy chair to sit in. The gilt scene on the back is beautiful and in great shape. I've seen these chairs online for five hundred or more so with a bit of TLC this would be a great fixer upper for someone who loves this style of furniture. -Mike-

Thanks Thomas...I need at least a hatchback with a fold down seat. Not partial to trucks for everyday running around. Just too big a vehicle for a shorty like me...lol. Agree about the truck access. Everyone's willing to help until you ask them. Happy Saturday ! :)

      Very Nice Find!!
Good thing I do not live anywhere near you as when they had marked it down to about $ 30.....I would have grabbed it already then. It would have never made it to the $ 5 range with me around.....LOL. So good thing I am not around there Mike.....LOL. Thumbs up to you !!

Thanks Bonnie and Rose......it was 75 and I waited...then 50 and I waited...then 45 and I waited...then 35 and I waited....then 25 and I left it yet again. Went back yesterday on a whim that it might still be there and it was 5.00 ! I would have paid 35-45 too but hesitated about how to get it home. The tag had so much black marker on it I had to take it to the cashier to make sure I wasn't seeing things. SOLD ! :)

lol...Thanks Rose...the mileage on the Civic is getting up there from all my running around treasure hunting. Almost 90K...which is a bit high for a 2012 but it's been dealer maintained from day one and still looks and runs like new. :)

Beautiful chair, and with quieter upholstery, its beauty would really stand out.

Thanks Sklo...The peachy pink silk is quite nice in itself but I'm not sure what would look appropriate, maybe something from the Regency period. They used a lot of subtle stripes and tone on tone floral fabrics. :)
