    Obtained vase 10 years in Iraq. Hand painted, 17 1/2 inches in height, 5 in neck, 12 1/2 inch body tapered with 3 inch opening at mouth. All painting rises up off vase surface, bottom of vase has check mark, handles has gold tone overlay.

      Japanese and possibly Satsuma, although generally it would be signed by the artist of the kiln.
      The raised painting is called moriage, and if you search under Satsuma moriage vase with handles, or similar, you should find some like it.
