Special order light brown bomber radio that was made for Capt. Thomas F. Cullen. Made expressly for and stollen from Capt.Thomas F. Cullen. Perhaps a gift from Macdonald to his friend the Capt. The radio is covered in a much lighter brown material and is absolutely genuine to the radio. I replaced the missing handle with one from a companion radio but instead of drilling out the rivets or changing anything at all on the radio I choose to cut the handle and sew it together in order to keep the radio completely original. It actually still works as well although it could use the caps replaced as the audio is a bit garbled. I just did not want to change anything so that there could be no question as to it's authentisity. I have seen only one other radio like it but without the painted dedication on the dial face. It belongs to another antique radio forum member and we basically found each other when I brought up my radio on one of the treads. He wrote back with a picture of his which blew me away. Now there was at least two of them known to exist. They are covered exactly the same way. The thing that makes this more interesting is the fact that the both this radio and the other one that is known as original are missing the model number that is usually stamped on the small wooden block that holds the wavemagnet antenna. This radio is the centerpiece of my collection and was the thrill of a lifetime in finding it.
