For years I thought this vase was a décor by Kralik called Silberband, but apparently research discovered in 2014 has clouded the issue and some similar pieces are now attributed to Fritz Heckert as a décor called Changeant. For now, I will stick with Kralik, especially after the responses below, but will add Aquagold as a definite possibility... This nice little example is about 4" tall and 3" in diameter. It has a ground and polished rim, and no pontil mark on the base. There are two dimples on opposite sides of the vase. The green base glass has a randomly swirled band of opalescent glass pulled through. There is an overall metallic iridescence. There are no markings - c. pre WWI.

My opinion, it is no Heckert. I would say a variation of Aquagold of Kralik. Nice piece !

Thanks colori - to me the maker doesn't really matter, though it is nice to know such things. - Bob

Your original idea, assigning this décor to Kralik actually was correct, many pieces must have been re-assigned to Heckert, but this specific décor is still Kralik, known from many other Kralik shapes.

Thanks for the input & the "loves' everyone - I have edited the story to go with my original instincts as being Kralik.

Very nice vase Bob. It could possibly be Kralik but not silberband. The bands are much too thick. Here's a nice reference for silberband glass: https://sites.google.com/site/loetzandglass/kralik-7--silverband

Pay attention to the rims in the reference ... They're typically finished and not cut and the glass much thinner than yours.

Rick, the reference on that website link is out of date; Heckert silberbands are actually shown; it needs to be updated to say that what were previously thought to be Kralik silberbands are now known to be Heckert 'Changeant'. It has been that way for several years, and I hope the site eventually gets updated. As for this particular vase, I agree with Tomasz (colori) and think it is by Kralik. Tomasz, by the way, has a really amazing collection of Kralik Aquagolds... :)

You're right Michelle I overlooked mentioning the name change. Antiquedon listed one the other day where I made the Changeant reference. Thanks for the added information. :-)

Just to confirm that this vase is made by Kralik, not Heckert. It was me identifying the Changeant decor a couple of years ago by means of Heckert drawings.

Hmmm, the shape of the dimples is so regular I would suspect Kralik also?
