Persica by Rindskopf - Tour de Force

Persica is one of the less frequently seen Rindskopf designs, and this one is a very colorful example. The vase stands 12" tall and is about 4" in diameter at the base. It is in what some collectors call the Karnak shape due to the resemblance to Egyptian papyriform columns. The rim is ground and the base features an unusually finished button pontil mark. The purple base glass has a very strong metallic iridescence on the surface that produces varied colors of blue, gold, and purple due to irregularly spaced ribs, and pinches in several places depending upon the angle of the light that catches them. It was produced c. pre WWI. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have this in my livingroom, where changing window light makes the colors change at different hours of the day.
