I went to my usual little Tuesday evening shop hoping to find something interesting. Well, I did....this bracelet was not on the table last Tuesday, so it must have been put out last evening while I was browsing elsewhere. Only one other person in the shop who was also browsing elsewhere. No marks anywhere on the bracelet, but I was convinced it was gold. I tested it thoroughly when I got home, and was rewarded with a positive result of 14K. This afternoon I went to see Geri and she double tested it. Yep. Gold.
This is the same pokey little shop where I bought the big 14K/18K gold necklace, 14K brooch and several pairs of 14K/18K gold earrings plus an 18K pendant....all for a buck each....
The bracelet had seen better days and had some damage, so it will go in the pot. Scrap came to $476.00, approximately.
Thanks for coming by!

Well done Bonnie, I wish we had these shops in Spain, I'd never be out of them.
can you be my friend bonnie
@fleafinder - :-))))))))
jean- there are many, many second hand shops in my neck of the woods here in South Limburg. I try to budget my time and make a schedule to visit the shops that offer what I am looking for.
You are just THE JEDI....
I wish we had these shops here too!!! Very pleased for you Bonnie.....you do the hard yards to find these things and it pays off.........as Karen says.....definitely "THE JEDI"!!!!
Sweet......
Just think IF everyone of us here on Collectors on CW - ALL SHOWED UP AT THE SAME STORE AT ONE TIME -- it would be picked clean of glass, gold, vintage, mid modern, Art, Toys. Photography, rings, pans, books, wood, ceramic, pottery, advertising items etc, etc
What a funny scene that would be !!!
Rose - ya got sharp elbows? LMAO!!!
THANK YOU, karen.... :-))))
Judy - I'm surprised that Australia is low on thrift shops. Why is that? What happens to all the things people don't need/want any longer? In the tip?
By now you must be a rich woman!!! :)
I should say Bonnie that in Tasmania there are the usual Salvos, Vinnies, Red Cross, City Mission.....all charity stores, but really......most of them think they are upmarket department stores with their clothes and for anything that looks slightly old, vintage or whatever they want antique shop prices!!
As far as jewellery goes, there is plenty there if you want modern junk........very rarely does anything old make it into the stores.......it must get snaffled at the warehouses I think by people in the know!!
We don't seem to have many "thrift" type stores( secondhand private shops) I can only think of 2 off hand and they are just furniture!!!!
Markets in Tas used to be good, but they have mostly gone to the usual cheap junky stuff now as well.........1 or 2 old school dealers still around but they have trouble finding good stock to sell!!
Karen and Vetraio can probably tell you about "mainland" Australia and op shops there......Would be nice to be able to afford to fly to Melbourne or Sydney every couple of months or so to look for goodies.......oh well, just have to stick to ebay I guess!!!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :P
Bowing and worshipping the Jedi :-))
I wish too we had those shops here... so many modern junk stuff in the village fairs...
