This 8" vase is about 2.5" diameter at the base and has about a 1" opening at the lip. The color is greenish-yellow and there is a snakeskin texture molded into the surface. There is a vivid metallic iridescence on the surface that shows well due to the texture. The sterling collar has London hallmarks and dates to 1904. Though the collar is in rough condition as is often the case with these. I believe the maker's mark is DL for David Loebl, and it looks like the "D" was punched upside down. The glass is unmarked, but was attributed as Rindskopf when purchased.

I agree with DL for David Loebl. Looks exactly right. Their archives are in Goldsmiths Hall in London: a seam to tap in the future!

Very nice! The texture is terrific. It is different from what I think of as Rindskopf's typical snakeskin decor, but they also did so neat molded patterns - this could be Rindskopf, but in a color I haven't seen before, or possibly Kralik. I agree with Ian about DL, and thanks Ian for the suggestion of the archives, too! :)

Wow, I got so busy at work and at home that I haven't had time to indulge in the conversation. Thanks to everybody for the loves & comments. I think of the silversmith 112 years ago accidentally holding the punch for the letter "D" upside down so the round part of the "D" faces to the left instead of the right and I chuckle. That's what happens when things were literally hand made! Best to all! - Bob

I love the texture Bob, and the first pic shows off the iridescence nicely!
