I would like to be able to say this is stone but it's not. It is a resin sculpture based closely on Antonio Canova’s first Three Graces statue, which was made from marble and completed in 1817.
I have seen resin copies of the Graces before and most seem to be from Italy. I don't know where this was made, although possibly China as I have also seen some from there.
The resin itself seems quite plasticky and the modelling not fantastic, but it still is a striking piece.
Height: 56cm (22in)

Resin or not it's still a striking piece Karen. There are a lot of Chinese faux jade pieces that seem to use this same material in the 60's. Looks great in the garden setting. :)
There it is! I think they're beautiful. I made several searches but didn't find any in this gorgeous green color - almost looks like jade, so you are probably right on it's origins being Asian.
This is really lovely Karen!! The colour is quite amazing isn't it!!!
Would love a Three Graces Cameo!!!
This really is fantastic!! There are so many items made from resin today that when a piece catches my eye I have to pick it up to see if it's the real deal or simply resin. The manufacturers have gotten really good with resin.
Beautiful! And substancial!!! :-))
I think you are correct on the date Mike, this has some age. I'm glad you like it thanks.
Yes Bonnie the Italian all seem marble colour, and this one was from an Asian estate. I like the green too!
Judy I agree. It's a beautiful statue and would be a gorgeous cameo. Thanks.
Scott thanks for the love and comment. This is not the best resin, still lovely, but the newer compounds are fantastic.
The ladies are quite large Kyra and eye catching in size and colour. :)
they look like if you put them close to a strong lightbulb, they would glow in the dark afterwards! they are cool!
Glowing would be a bonus Ho2!
It's definitely a striking piece Karen! If you hadn't said, I would have thought Jade.
a masterpiece of glass
And I thought when I saw it that it was jade! Well, it's still very nice ms k. And tall too. I love it!
Thanks guys.
If it was jade I would now be retired lol.
there's a beautiful marble one like this at Hearst Castle.
Yes, you absolutely would be...I would ask if I could join you!!! There would be enough..lol

Lol Bonnie, thanks mate!
I tried to sell this a while back, not pricey, no bites. Keeping it now :)
It is beautiful, maybe someone will make it in glass. Where did you try to sell. If I can ask that question.
I too would have bought that in a heartbeat!
I am in Aus Tahiti and tried to sell it at a local antiques and vintage fair.
I'm happy it didn't sell now, I have decided to keep it :)
Rats! Enjoy it, it is beautiful!
