This is another Welz mini hex acquired in the trade I mentioned previously.
Loving these as I do I feel I was lucky indeed. The spatter is tiny but even so is very precise with individual colours having a dark edging.
Image three shows it with its yellow neighbour on the shelf and with the only other one I have of the same shape.
Image four shows it between two miniatures of the same shape. I always display the 'back' of the yellow one because if I display the front it dominates and unbalances the group.
Here however I think it's worth seeing the front. It is painted and enamelled and the rim is gilded. I suspect that this style of decoration did not survive to the Art Deco period. Certainly all the evidence is that Welz moved with the times and was very innovative with its Art Deco production.
I could be completely wrong but think it is worth considering that this one came from an earlier time. Bear in mind that a very similar hexagonal shape produced by Welz may also have come came from an earlier period. See previous post.
Height 11.5 cm./4.5 inches
I love all of these Peggy! They look great together, and I disagree about the yellow one overshadowing the other two... each one has its own striking decor that can hold its own against the other two :-) IMO the yellow one gets lost in Pic 3 against the stronger flavors of the other two!
Hi Rick, this is beyond late but here goes. Your comment caused me to see picture three in a new light and I totally get what you're saying. I've turned the vase around and I think it'll grow on me!
I was going to say before how nice it is that the pink is the same design...what a lovely set you have. I bet your display is breath taking.
Thanks, shareurpassion. I don't know about breathtaking but see the display here.

These are very interesting and I admire your collection of them - how many specific shapes are you seeing in the smaller size? How many of the shapes do you find in the larger size?
Thank you for the compliment. So far I've only found four shapes in the smaller size. Two are curved shapes with different necks. Tw0 are angular shapes with long neck/short body or short neck/long body.
In the larger size I have one of each of the curved hexagonal shapes, but each has a frilled/flounced neck. I've not seen either of the angular ones in the larger size.
