This is another piece of jewelry I got from Malva's collection in exchange for silver from me. It was purchased in Suriname many years ago. The only mark is the "SILVER" stamp on the bail. I didn't find anything similar using the Google Image search.
Thanks for stopping by!

I know why your not scarred of ghosts your Jedi mind control works on them as well:)
Caperkid - I'm the sort of person who likes to hang around cemeteries at night....
Very pretty - Never seen something like that ??? Is ivory that white? Or does it have some yellow to it ??
It looks too white to me, too. And chalky. The carving is rather primitive - look at her hand. Must be an amateur's piece. Maybe they carved it out of love for someone & had it mounted.
Celiene - it's neither chalky nor too white - that was due to the sunshine. I have posted indoor photos. Schreger lines are visible. Could be an amateur piece or could simply be the style of the person who carved it. That will remain unknown.
Could it be something like this here???

Is the back of yours have a bit of a *pink tinge/tint* to it too?? Just guessing here..
It's beautiful and I think the design of the lady quite art deco in style.
Why Suriname? Obscure!!
Love it Bonnie!!
karen - that is where Malva told me she bought it, many years ago (she's an old bat of 75, lol!!).
rose - the natural light gives it that little pink glow. It's not a shell cameo. Mine does resemble the one you found. That one, however, is a much higher quality. :-)))
