This is a souvenir ice bucket. It doesn't really look like vaseline glass - does it glow under a blacklight?
A fair price....well....where did he buy it? If that item was to show up here in the Netherlands at a flea market, the asking price would likely be 2 bucks.
I found the same in milk glass (with a bigger price):

It does glow under blacklight ,his face is now too knowing ur two dollar price. Had no idea u from Netherlands. If shipping from Netherlands to the US didn't cost alot I would say if you found another one that glows for two dollars get and let me know
Not allowed to sell items via CW. The only reason one of these would turn up here is if a military family had a clear out before shipping out.
Coal scuttle, not ice bucket!
Celiene - well I can't change my comment now, can I. It's listed in the link as a coal scuttle. Cool your jets, as my mom says.
And people say those were for holding a pipe!
New to this site. Haven't gotten totally familiar with rules. Hope this doesn't get me removed. But thank u for help in identifying.

Here's a cute one with a little bag of 'coal'.

I think the price was fair for Vaseline. If your husband is happy, that is all that matters.
Not to pile on here but Vaseline glass is yellow like the petroleum jelly Vaseline. What you have is uranium glass. I would say $10-$15 would be about right. It not like you spent a couple grand on it so no big.
