Vintage Glass Necklace (in need of some TLC)

This is an unusual vintage necklace. It is made of yellow "painted" white glass beads (milk glass?). Some of the beads have also some rhinestones.

The necklace is in really poor condition: It needs to be re-strung and a few of the small yellow beads are missing, as well as two of the rhinestones. I think with a bit of creativity, I can bring it back to life!

I believe it is rather old, maybe 1940's or so.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
