I spent the weekend with my sister helping her set up her booth next to mine at the antique co-op we now both share. She had driven in from New Jersey to set up but also to visit her son and take me out to dinner for my birthday. Which is actually today (Halloween....boo !) but she had to leave Sunday morning to get back to work today. While she was here an older couple came in the store and wanted to sell this clock and a few other interesting items. It looked familiar to me and I later realized 3 years ago Antique Rose posted one just like it ...imagine that ! So this became my birthday present from my sister. While not very old or even of the "art deco" period it is a beautiful clock done in the "deco" style. A nice heavy crystal case mounted on adjustable slides with a bakelite base. The dial says "Majak" but it is made by the Serdobsky Clock Factory in Russia which closed in 2004. It has an 11 jewel 7 day wind-up movement and runs beautifully. They made a few different color faces and the price range antique wise varies greatly from fifty dollars to hundreds depending on the auction site. So it's not that valuable either but it sure is gorgeous. Thanks Sis ! -Mike-
Here's the link to some history about the Serdobsky Clock Factory. There's even a picture of this exact clock !

Happy Birthday Mike!!! What a sweet sister you have to do that for you...it's a beauty!
Happy Birthday Mike
Thanks so much for the nice comments and Birthday greetings...Thomas, Rose, Share and Roy. :)
Great B-day gift Mike! Happy Birthday to you my friend!!
Thanks so much Scott :)
Omedetogozaimasu, Mike-san! Nice B-D gift from a nice sister! [;>)
Domo arigato Kiyoshi....she is and I have more in common with her than my five other siblings. I'm the oldest of the boys and she's the oldest of the girls which is probably why. A bad divorce and not being able to see her children kept her out of touch for a good 20 years while she started her new life. I never could figure out why but she just showed up out of the blue 10 years ago like nothing had happened. Now she visits my parents and me at least once a year. When she said she wanted to rent the booth next to mine at the antique co-op I couldn't believe it. We had the best weekend. She loves collecting as much as I do and it's great to be able to share a passion with someone like I do here with all my friends on CW. :)
What a great birthday gift Mike, congrats! It's definitely lovely and unique (in a good way) with that crystal surround! Where was the last pic taken?
Re love really nice clock Rick55.
Sorry wrong button Mikelv85 super nice clock:)
No problem Roy thanks for the nice comment. :)....@ Rick...The last picture is my sister's booth at the antique co-op Rick. It's in Oberlin near the college. I've been there since April and couldn't believe it when the spot opened up next to my booth and she wanted to rent it. We were setting things up last weekend when the lady brought the clock in to sell.
