    Deadmansgun
    (1 item)

Saw this beauty in an antique store in west TN and decided to purchase it.It was labeled "Swiss mis helmet",but a few searches turned up nothing.I've seen many Dutch helmets that are similar,as well as a near matching Swedish helmet but no luck identitying it yet.If anyone knows what kind of helmet this is please help me identify it.Regardless,I love how it looks and don't regret buying it at all.Thank you!

Btw if this helps anyone accurately identify this helmet it has a metal piece on the front stamped with a 7 above a 189.I don't know the significance, but it's certainly there.

How did you recognize what was front ? LOL ! You are lucky I didn't tell of a mythical army that was defeated because they couldn't agree which way to wear their helmets.

Haha,I'm almost positive the front has the stamped metal plate because the chinstrap faces that way,as well as the ergonomic feel of wearing it stamp forwards. I could be wrong, but I don't see how one could wear it reverse due to it obstructing the vision of the wearer. It has no visor, but in the back it has a neckguard inhibiting the wearer of having it on backwards without being essentially blinded.
