Wondering what this double flanged wheel is from and/or used for ???...railroad, mining, factory cart, trolley car, chain driven idler pulley tensioner wheel, funicular pulley drive, conveyer belt, cog railway, rock crusher, etc...
I felt like I had to do something with the wheel, so I decided to make it into mailbox with some help from Peter Daniluk, a welder friend of mine. Used things like a railroad spike pry bar, standard and narrow gauge spikes, rail mounting plate, cargo padlock, date nails (20, 16 & my initials), and a cannon ball chained to hanging address numbers with a duel purposes of acting like a Nebraska wind gauge....LOL
FYI...If your thinking of making a similar piece of redneck art...I used The Carlton bronze colored mailbox by Postal Pro, which conveniently is the same width as the standard rail mounting plate that the mailbox sits on.
