Wally Gilbert was a major beer can collector. Sadly he passed away in 2006.
I bought this mailing tin in an antique mall in Ramona, Ca which is about 20 miles from where Mr Gilbert used to live. This tin is perfect for mailing a beer can.
The stamps on this are all 1968 issued stamps thus it was mailed in 1968 most likely.
Wrapping it up with a giraffe shoulder mount at a mall in Temecula I visited on the way home.
Now I need a vintage beer can to display with it.

Wait! How did Frederick Douglass get a stamp? (Wink wink!) Yeah - Wally is fondly remembered online! Thanks for pointing me to this box from your living room listing!
