Hello CW friends!
I'm working on a small Victorian era canvas covered suitcase and this lovely grooming set came with it. Since these are not my area of expertise, I'm hoping someone can tell me more about this set. The set is not original to the suitcase, as there are no designated holders for each item. Though, I'm guessing this set is from that same era. Not sure if this set is American or European. Perhaps someone can help me with that.
The handles are all wood and the brushes all have boars hair bristles. The mirror is beveled glass and really needs to be re-silvered. I do not know if the emblems on each piece are sterling silver or just a cheap metal. But they are all beautiful and still in quite nice condition after a quick cleaning.
Thanks for stopping to have a look!

How wonderful Scott.....what a really great set! I am guessing this would be a man's set do you think?
Looks like quite the fancy set. Sadly I don't know much about the wooden sets.

valentino,
That's really neat! By all means try and have them save the trunk if possible. I hate to see a great piece of history rot away.
Anytime I decide to let a trunk leave my collection, I always give the new owner pictures of before and after, as well as the approximate history of the trunk. I only let one go if I know it'll be in a home where the owner can truly appreciate the beauty and history of the trunk. Don't want to see one mistreated.
Thanks very much for the loves
