    My husband bought me this at an estate sale. I have never seen anythig quite like is. Is anyone has any knowledge of the place and year it was wade... Also what would it have been used for."????????". It has brought me and my husband many wonderful and fun conversations!, I have grown to love it!

      Hi Patty.
      Can I ask you to provide a few more photos please. One of the base and another of a side on shot of the bowl.
      If you edit the photos very slightly, save, and then upload they should be correct way up.

      Thank you for your help. Here are some better pictures I hope. I'm new at this. It is a very heavy piece.

      OK.
      This is a nicely made bowl but not Murano, Czech or Japanese.
      Looking at the base you can see where the pontil has been snapped off and the base has been given a rough grind to sit flat.
      That says immediately that this is a Chinese piece, probably within the last 20 years. That in no way demeans it as a piece of art glass - it remains very cool!
