This was used for years by a relative's family as a china cabinet (they are 86 and it was from his parents). It has "J J" pressed in/stamped into the wood on the back. It has symmetrical (so machine made) dove tail joints on the drawers. Anyone know what kind of wood this is? I want to clean up some scratches in the top. Thanks!
It is most likely mahogany veneer, they never made them solid mahogany.
thanks PhilDMorris!
Another comment I've received, is that this is flame mahogany. ...Interesting.
