So I've had these for the past 10 years in storage. I haven't been able to find another to compare and see what I should be asking for these. They are from the late 40s (possibly older)and in good condition for the age
They have small areas of rust but not too bad. Some of the black on the letters are just tar that can be removed. if I restore them will they decrease in value? Thanks for looking. These are not the neon signs from the 40s and 50s, That do sell for over 5k on ebay! I haven't really cleaned them because I don't want to subtract from the value. Your input would be greatly appreciated. I'm not trying to sell them I just don't want to ruin them by restoring, Hence the reason for my post. If you've seen a sign like this one please send me a link I really want to know more about it.
Welcome to CW!!
Thanks..truly appreciate it. Trey
We have a couple things in common Lowriders and signs. It's good to see other people in the hobby:)
Are yours steel with Porcelain or are the fronts Plastic?
They are not plastic..they are steel and I do believe they are coated in porcelain. They are not neon lit in any way. If you know more about them please give me some information. Thanks
Trey, the first car I ever owned was that cutlass. It was a beauty. Do you also drive a lowrider?
I had a 61 impala with 3 pumps and 8 batteries:) front, back, side to side, pancake and standing 3 wheel. I traded it for a 63 impala one owner car:) I am currently replacing driver floor pan and trunk pan and drip rails in the trunk. I have a fresh 350 on the engine stand waiting to go in. I'm going with resto mod on this one. The motor is 500 horses. I also have to patch the front fenders and find a new hood.
Damn! Sounds good too me.
