It's a Kellogg in a dim portion of an antique store nearby.

I'm just curious, did some phones have lights on them originally? When I wind the magneto, it lights up (photo two). Why?

I really like the phone and if it's original, I may pick it up.

I don't recall seeing a phone like that before. Looks like it was done back in the day if not original. The wiring on the light looks neat and tidy so my guess is original from the factory.
Probably handy to have a light as there may be no electricity or few outlets.

It seems to light up only as it's being rung. I'm not sure if there was a battery that kept it lit after a call was established, though.
The wires are rubber-coated, not fabric-coated, which makes me question it.

No idea, haven't found another yet. I first thought maybe your first phone for someone with a handicap. But if your Deaf, you can't hear any conversations, and if your Blind -- you will not see the light. So the next thought that came to my head -- could it have been used for something in the Military where they did not want the sound of the Phone heard, so they put a light on it?

I do not know --- Just thinking (very ) outside the box......and in Left field too....LOL

.....or LOL...maybe it was used in tunnels under the city so it would not ring, but the light would light up for old days tunnel runners....LOL

      They again, maybe not...

I would say it's an add-on, almost certainly. Doesn't even look like a factory job & you're right about the insulation. I believe these phones worked on 28 ac on the generator.

It's not a phone at all.
