Your knife apparently commemorates Jan van Riebeeck's establishment of the colony at Capetown in 1652. It looks like knives made in Germany in the early 20th century. It appears too new to be from 1852 and too old for 1952, so I suspect it was made for the sesqui-centennial of that event in 1902. It will be of interest to collectors of souvenir knives and those interested in Capetown history - both relatively small groups. In excellent condition it would be worth $30-$40. In its present condition it is probably worth no more than about half that much.
