I bought these on Tuesday and just unwrapped them yesterday. I had to take my Dad to his infusion appointment in Cleveland so I had 3 hours to go exploring. I discovered a Goodwill up the street which is where these came from. Fresh off the production cart, they never got the chance to hit the shelves. A pair no less of beautifully shaped trophy vases. The azure blue applied handles on each side of the ruffled top are very curvy and delicate. Surprisingly one feels a bit heavier than the other and the white interior is a bit thicker as it transitions to the azure tinted base. Both pieces have record like grooves through out the body and base as if they were spun during production. You can see it clearly in the base but the white portion shows them as well. I'm not sure who made these. Possibly Murano as I've seen similar but not exactly the same vases online or maybe Czech which is what I'm really hoping for. Not a speck of damage to either one of these beauties which is amazing for something so fragile. -Mike-
What a wonderful and lucky GW find Mike! I must not be getting to our GWs early enough. I never find anything good in any of our GWs. Perhaps I will eventually:)
Thanks Scott...GW's in general this time of year are all seasonal decorations but every once and a while something like this shows up. :)
These are beautiful, Mike! Was that GW better than the ones where you usually go?
Thanks Bonnie....Not really they are all pretty much the same. It was just a right place at the right time sort of thing. These were still on the cart so it was a grab and go kind of thing. You just never know so I go everyday to about 5 or 6 places on my route. Some days I fill the trunk and other days it's home empty handed.
