Hi,
I've got an original oil painting of Emmett Kelly by the artist Barry Leighton-Jones. The painting is pretty large (100cm x 70cm) and is oil on canvas. It's an early version of the piece called The Tycoon, it's signed and dated 1986. I think it's a really cool painting and love the subject matter, particularly as it was painted with a certain dark sense of humour and the theme (financial crisis/depression) is pretty relevant in these times.
I understand that Leighton-Jones created a number of original paintings for the Kelly family/estate and that a large number of prints etc. were produced from them, many of which you can still find for sale on Ebay etc. I think the paintings and prints were/are a lot more popular in the States than over here in the UK (for obvious reasons). So I thought I would share my painting on this website and ask if anyone had come across one of these original Kelly oil paintings before, had seen one in a recent auction/sale, or even got one themselves? I can only really find prints and copies for sale online.
Thanks for looking.
