I have eight oak trees in my yard, and during the fall, I can hear the occasional pings of acorns falling on the roof of our house. Every year we end up putting out approximately 200 bags of leaves for pickup by our fine civil servants, so it is little wonder why I love my little Roseville Pottery Oak and Acorn basket.
It has a wonderful Art Deco shape and stands about 6.5" tall by about 5" wide. The colors of the glazes range from reddish brown to dark green, and the vase has a texture similar to the banding in "Tiger Oak". The vase was made c. 1935 - 1945 and the bottom is marked by the raised "Roseville U.S.A." mark along with the shape and size numbers "369 - 6 1/2" A fine example of late deco era Ohio art pottery. I occasionally fill it with acorns and place it as a Thanksgiving centerpiece on the dining room table for the holiday feast!
