Trying to identify this kitchen gadget. Intended purpose? An interesting kitchen tool found in my mother's utensil drawer. It closes so most teeth meet together. It's hinged so it does not open further than pictured. Imprinted Taiwan. Can anyone solve this mystery. Thank you.

I just did! Thanks again for the heads up. With being brand new on this site, I was unaware of this very important step.
don't think this would work too well as a pasta server. It's for holding small to medium veggies for slicing:

Thank you TallCakes. Love the input I'm receiving on this kitchen gadget.
The key word is "multi-functional". :-)))))
(I use a silicone bowl scraper to flip my fried egg, so there ya go, lol! )

yes, even a fork could be classified as multifunctional. The image I provided merely indicated the manufacturer's intended use to hold food for slicing. For me, just give me a sharp knife and a cutting board for slicing, or simple spring tongs for serving. I'll use my fork to scramble my eggs......
Folks, you are awesome! If you know where to look something like this up, then it's simple. I didn't and wore my fingers out trying to locate this item. I'm so glad I found this site!
