    this piece is deeply cut out of a single piece of wood. the women look like they are all doing a hula dance. you can see some inlaid mother of pearl on the indoor scenes in the background on each side of the picture. the piece is 18 inches long by 6.5 inches tall.

      Beautiful Ho2 :)....I missed out on a small black lacquer table with similar carving on top. Waiting for the price drop didn't pan out too well that time.

      I always heard of these red and gilded carved panels as being named "ning po" or "ningbo"
