Based on similar clocks made by New Haven it seems this one is circa 1900. That fits in with the inkwell built into this desk which is also from that period. It is a very small clock less than 2 1/2" across. Unfortunately it is non working. I have better luck with the electric fans as almost all of them work. For clocks I am about 50/50.
The clock is set in mantle style housing which is built into the desk. Eventually I will post the desk.
The package will be mailed tomorrow it will take about 2 weeks. Let me know when you get it.
Excellent Caperkid. Will do.
Working or not, it's still a pretty fantastic looking clock!
Nice! I like the idea of the desk with the clock in it! Doesn't matter if it doesn't work!! It's great.
That's a "Tambour" style case which his part of your desk. I've never seen anything quite like it. I've seen desk clocks before but this takes that whole thing to another level! :) Looking forward to seeing the entire thing. The clock itself looks like movements (and the associated Hand styles) used in New Haven's "Novelty Clock" line of products. Specifically their Dion, Traveler and Tabard" Those clocks are from circa 1911. I would guesstimate a range of 5-10 years before or after that date...so I think your estimate of 1900 could be very close. Thanks for sharing another great item Fortapache! This is really unique and neat.
Thank you very much Scott. I would probably never remember to rewind it anyway. Like all my other clocks.
Thank you very much TassieDevil. The more doo dads the better with these desks.
Thank you very much Bruce99. I shall add that to the description. It's a small desk but I hope you enjoy the full reveal probably next week.
Thank you
