Part of a consignment auction buy (mated with a Della Robbia covered candy in the same treatments).
This is line # 1084 Argonaut Shell, covered candy dish in "Mother of Pearl". It has been hand painted in soft pastels.
The "W over G" says issued after 1949 but would like more detailed dates, if possible.
I have been told that this piece is a "difficult to find" beauty.

The Della Robbia candy dish has the same treatment & finish. The date of production that I show on it is 1920 through 1940. Is this date range in error ?

Will you be posting the Della Robbia piece? I have a covered chocolate box in Della Robbia. I would love to see your piece.

The Della Robbia pattern was introduced c1928 in painted crystal, and made for many years in other colors of glass. My guess would be that the MOP pieces of various patterns were likely produced as reissues around the same time frame.
