The purse/clutch is about 12in in height and 9in. In width. It has a hard body, defiantly not plastic, nor is it a type of leather. The short handles are made of leather, and there is also a rope like strap that is attached from the inside. Closes by a magnetic type snap. Around the snap there is some writing "USA PAT. 5274889
