    Hi,

I purchased this pin for almost a year. The seller's statement is here:

Gorgeous quality Amethyst Gripoix poured glass flower brooch with seed pearl accents and oval amethyst rhinestone and clear chaton rhinestones make up this unique vintage collectible brooch. These amethyst petals are faceted and really pick up the light to dazzle.
Three layered construction for dimension and interest. 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Roll over C clasp in excellent working order.

    High end unsigned beauty.

I really love it. The details are amazing. Can somebody please let me know the brand name?

    thanks,

Very Pretty. Gripoix was a person who started the technique. Now it is a style of jewelry using poured glass. Some really stunning stuff on the web!

"n 1869, Augustine Gripoix, a Paris glass worker skilled in the making of reproduction pearls, developed a sophisticated technique for setting and enameling colored, cast glass in intricate metal mountings."

The clasp is pretty unique - it stands out very far. Almost like you could use it as a scarf slide, too.

@Celene, it never comes to me that this could be a scarf pin. Thanks for pointing this out. I've been digging the back view of many poured glass brooches, like you said, the back design is so unique that so far no match can be found. I am hoping someone can use the back view as a clue to pinpoint the brandname.

You are welcome! Where are the jewel experts??

This pin is Gripoix imitation. It uses faceted crystals, not poured glass. It was certainly inspired by Gripoix style but the technique is different. Here's a video demonstrating how glass is "poured" (in the middle of the clip). It's very labour intensive and consequently, costly.

@davyd286. Thank you so much for the video. I have a lot more respect for these little beautiful things now, especially those hands that create them...
You are right, the edge of the petals are cut. Thanks again!

I thought the same, faceted thus not Gripoix... beautiful anyway!!!
