Don't be confused by these 'Ball and Swirl'/'Swirl and Ball' pattern cake stands. McKee Bros. introduced their 'Ray' (AKA: Ball and Swirl) pattern in 1894; this is the taller elegant of these examples. Westmoreland introduced the pattern 'Swirl and Ball' pattern #1842 around 1943. I personally think the patterns look a bit awkward when presented together; and I much prefer the tall elegant presence of the McKee pattern to the squatty pedestal of the Westmoreland pattern.

Is there a similar pattern done in the Colony pattern by Fostoria?
Meant to write " is there a similar "platter" in the Colony ........
I thought about including Colony, as it has similar swirls, but no balls. Colony is more similar to Bambous Tors by Baccarat.
