This is a striped vase with added green rigaree in the form of leaves. Image three shows it with a vase of the same shape in a different Welz décor. The vase is in three layers.....amber inner, white stripes then amber outer.
Image four shows it with other Welz striped vases. The middle vase has very regular, controlled, ribbon like stripes. The two outer vases have very 'informal' stripes and their width can vary greatly according to the shape of the vase.
Height 19.5 cm./7.75 inches
Love it!
Thanks, scott.
What a great assortment.....
Thank you, Craig, just another subset I'm interested in!
I love the colour palette of this one Peggy! I admit oxblood is not a fave, but this soft orange and green is so fresh and summery.
Hi Karen, yes this décor is softer than most and the green rigaree is a bonus too. However really it's Welz stripes I'm interested in. I see them from time to time but attributed to other makers......with a price to match.....grrr
For some time I've been seeing a similar piece on eBay Peggy and I love it. However, I prefer yours with the clean lines offset by the little wings on the bottom... Beautiful vase!
What a wonderful collection, that last, pink striped one...ooh, to die for
Rick, thank you. Clean lines and Welz of this period......not too common at all! :) Nice when I find it though. I do have a growing collection of Welz that is not Art Deco but has no rigaree whatsoever.
Hi Fran, you spotted the pick of the bunch when it comes to Welz stripes lol
