Just came across this really nice empire server. It has a number on the back that is 30 247. Anyone have a clue what that might mean. I'm assuming it is a piece number but not quite sure.

Thank you. After doing a little research on Empire Ltd, I have to think that the way this piece is shaped it had to be "ultra" modern back in 1940 or so. Empire Ltd made furniture under that label from 1828 to 1940 so I have found out that much. I just love this piece also.

We have a sideboard by the same company, that looks to be around the same era. (By the way, I think Empire Limited was 1928 to 1940, not 1828.) We've come to the reluctant decision to sell the sideboard, because we're getting a piano and can't seem to figure out how to redistribute our furniture without losing a piece. Is it rude to ask about how much you paid for your piece? I don't really have a frame of reference for what I should ask for the sideboard. Thanks!
